RIHA - Emîra Mihemmed, who fought on the YPJ front against the attacks of Turkey and the SNA, is from the Arab and Sosin Osêv is from the Armenian people. Both women stated that they resisted as part of the Autonomous Administration and defended their lands.
Women, who are making history with their resistance against the unlimited attacks of the male-dominated mentality in the Middle East, are growing the resistance front with their struggle and organisation. The Women's Defence Units (YPJ) are resisting in all areas against the attacks launched by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) against Aleppo in Syria on 27 November and the increasing attacks of Turkey and the affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria.
YPJ Euphrates Region Military Council Commander Emîra Mihemmed, who is from the Arab people, and Armenian YPJ fighter Sosin Osêv spoke about the escalating violence and war in the region.
'ALL FORCES UNITED'
Emîra Mihemmed stated that Turkey's attacks are not new and added: "Since the beginning of the revolution in Syria, the YPJ and the People's Defence Units (YPG) have played an important role. This is in front of our eyes. The YPG and YPJ forces fought a war against ISIS terrorism with great effort and courage and won a great victory." Emîra Mihemmed said that at a time when ISIS cells in the region were weakened, they resorted to dirty tricks and tried to reorganise ISIS in this way.
RESISTANCE WITH KOBANÊ SPIRIT
Emîra Mihemmed continued as follows: "We fought against the existing cells and cleared them from Tebqa, Manbij and Deir Ez-zor. Today, we see that these gangs, who work for thousands of dollars, are once again sent to create conflict. However, we came together against all attacks. Internal Security forces, YPJ and SDF are responding to attacks in every field in a joint manner. With the resistance of our forces, their aims came to naught. We stood against the attacks with a revolutionary war approach and by following in the footsteps of our heroic martyrs. Our war is against exploitation. We promise victory to our people again. We will succeed as the children of this land. Our biggest war was in Kobanê. We will wage this war with the spirit that liberated Kobanê at that time. As an Arab woman in the YPJ, I would like to state that I will continue the struggle for the Turkish state to account for its attacks that trample on humanity."
'WE DEFEND OUR LAND'
Sosin Osêv from YPJ also stated that different peoples live together in the region and said: "We are together with Assyrians, Armenians and people from all peoples. We all live the same life. We work together. We are one. We defend our people and our land. We have full confidence in all our forces. Erdoğan is attacking all of us when he attacks here. We will be the answer."
Stating that the attacks evolve to another dimension each time, Sosin Osêv continued: "We have experienced the persecution of Bashar al-Assad and now we are facing attacks. We do not accept fragmentation. We are part of the Autonomous Administration. ISIS attacks that have been going on since 2013 continue today with the help of Turkey. We are not forces coming from outside. We have always been here as Armenians. As an Armenian woman, I call on all our young women friends to fight against these attacks. Everyone needs to stand up against this."
