ANKARA - Jiyan Ateş, whose release was pstponed 8 times, was released from Sincan Women's Closed Prison.
Prisoner Jiyan Ateş was released from Sincan Women's Closed Prison. Release of Jiyan Ateş has been postponed 8 times since 2021 by Administration and Observation Board. Jiyan Ateş was welcomed by her family, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Ankara Provincial Organization and women in front of Sincan Prison Campus.
'SOCIETY WILL BE LIBERATED IF ISOLATION IS LIFTED'
Making a statement in front of the prison where she was welcomed with flowers, Jiyan Ateş stated that their struggle will continue until all political prisoners are liberated and said: "Our freedom and the freedom of the whole society can only begin with the end of the isolation imposed in İmralı."
Stating that she was arrested in 2012 and her release has been postponed for 3 and a half years with the decision of the Administration and Observation Board, "This situation is specially applied in Sincan Prison. We are among the first to be caught in this. We interpret these as special policies," she said.
Jiyan Ateş called for a struggle against this policy.
