ÊLIH/WAN - DEM Party Youth Assembly members called for a march from Amed to Amara and said, "Let's be in Amara with the spirit of Newroz."

 

Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Youth Assembly will march from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Amara rural neighbourhood of Riha's (Urfa) Xalfetî (Halfeti) district on 1-4 April with the slogan "We are walking to freedom with a democratic society". Preparations for the march to be organised on the 76th birthday of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan continue.

 

DEM Party Youth Assembly member Yusuf Mendeş pointed to the call made by Öcalan on 27 February and emphasised that the youth would be the pioneers of the call. Mendeş said, "On March 8 International Women's Day, women supported the call with mass participation. Millions filled the fields in the Newroz that followed. They expressed their longing for peace. This call should be embraced by the peoples of the world. With the adoption of honourable peace, many problems will disappear. Let's take to the fields with the Newroz spirit."

 

Mendeş added, "The isolation is still not lifted. The issue of isolation is not only a Kurdish issue, bu a peoples' issue. Everyone must do their part. Strong participation is important of the construction of honourable peace. We welcome everyone who wants to be a voice for freedom to Amara."

 

DEM Party Youth Assembly member Vedat Özer said, "We are going through an important process. First of all, the ongoing isolation must end immediately. We will be in Amara with the spirit of Newroz and March 8. We invite all our people to Amara. Let's end this isolation and ensure his freedom. A strong participation is important for this. Let us increase solidarity and liberate the architect of peace (Öcalan)."

 

DEM Party Wan Youth Assembly member Polatcan Gören said, "We will march from Amed to Amara to ensure the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. This 4th of April, we will march for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. We will state that we will be behing and support the process that has been initiated. We state that we will do our part in all the decisions Abdullah Öcalan will make. We want all patriotic youth to participate in the march. Let's ensure Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom together."
