The "Social Democratic Alliance in the Arab World Conference" organised in the city of Silêmaniyê in the Federated Kurdistan Region continues on its third day. In today's sessions of the conference, the Palestinian issue, regional security and the challenges facing democracy in the Arab world will be discussed.
Former Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtiyya, Secretary General of the Jordanian Social Democratic Party Falah al-Jabour, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouti and Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Struggle in Palestine Ahmead Majdalani will speak at a special panel to discuss the impact of the Palestinian issue on the Middle East.
The panels will also discuss the general political and security situation in the region and highlight the impact of conflict and instability on development. Participants will discuss the challenges facing democracy in Arab countries in the wake of the "Arab Spring" and the challenges facing the social democratic movement.
Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji, President of the Arab Social Democratic Alliance Farid Zahran, Governor of Kirkuk Rebwar Taha, and Secretary General of the Forum for Democratic Freedoms and Affairs Khalil ez-Zawiyya will attend the conference and answer questions about regional security, development and possible solutions.
