RIHA – Thousands marched in Qamishlo demanding the physical freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
In the city of Qamishlo in North and East Syria, a march was organized calling for the physical freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Democratic mass organizations, religious representatives, and thousands of citizens gathered at Soni Junction in response to a call by the Qamishlo People’s Assembly.
During the march, participants frequently chanted “Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)” and carried posters of Abdullah Öcalan. The demonstration continued through the city center, with citizens from various ethnic and communal backgrounds joining the march.
Following the march, Kongra Star and religious scholars delivered statements in Arabic and Kurdish at Martyrs’ Junction. The statements condemned the harsh isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan for the past 27 years and emphasized that ensuring his physical freedom would represent a historic turning point for the peoples of the Middle East.
