According to SANA, the news agency affiliated with the Damascus government, the airport and bridges in the south of Damascus were targeted in the attack by Israeli warplanes. It was reported that 5 soldiers lost their lives and material damage was caused in the attack.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), on the other hand, stated that in addition to 5 Syrian soldiers, two militias supported by Iran lost their lives in the attack.
Israeli planes have also bombed the Aleppo airport in the north of the country twice in the last month. Since the start of the war in Syria in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks against members of the Syrian regime forces, Iranian forces and Lebanese Hezbollah.
