AGRI- It turned out that the reports that 11 HPG fighters who were in a shelter lost their lives during the operation in Gûndê Kûlê in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı, were not true. It was stated that many soldiers were trapped under the wreckage due to the collapse of the shelter.

It turned out that the news published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs that 11 HPG members who were in the cave lost their lives during the operation in the Gûnde Kûlê in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı were manipulations. It has been learned that no HPG members have lost their life so far in the operation that has been going on for 90 days in the region, and entrances and exits to the area are completely prohibited. While excavations are still continuing around the cave, it is among the information that a military base has been established in the region.

SOLDIERS WERE TRAPPED IN THE WRECKAGE

Three months ago, an operation was launched against the shelter, which was found after someone tipped the army officials. It was stated that gas bombs were used into the shelter, which had been dug for days. After a few days, the soldiers started to be sent into the shelter. It was stated that after the soldiers are sent into the shelter, the tunnel collapsed and many soldiers were trapped in the wreckage. Construction equipment, AFAD and 112 teams were dispatched to the area to rescue the soldiers. Whether the soldiers were rescued alive or died in the tunnels is yet unknown.

AMBULANCES ARE STILL HELD WAITING IN THE REGION

Informing that ambulances are still waiting in the area one month after the operation, citizens said: “Excavation work has been carried out there for months. But so far we have not seen the remains of anybody. If the remains of HPG members had been carried out, they would have published the photos of it right away. There is no information about the remains brought to the hospitals or morgues. Excavations are still being carried out and a military base is being established. There is information that a few soldiers were laid to rest there. No one has detailed information about what has been done there for months. Dozens of construction equipment and military vehicles go there every day.”

HPG DENIED

The statement were made by the Ministry of Interior that the operation lasted for 80 days and 11 HPG members lost their lives was denied by HPG the previous day.
