ANKARA – Getting ready for the congress, HDP plans to continue with Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar. In the HDP, which announced its "transparent negotiation" attitude on the common candidate in the elections, names began to be discussed for the presidential candidacy as well.

The preperations for the 5th Great Ordinary Congress of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) to be held on July 3 at the Ankara Sports Hall continues. The Central Consensus Commission, which will coordinate the preparations and determine the new term boards, held meetings during the week. The commission, which handled the preparations for the congress and the applications to the Party Assembly (PM), accelerated its work.

PARTY DISCUSSES TO CONTINUE WITH BULDAN AND SANCAR

The tendency to continue with the current Co-Chairs of the Commission, Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar came to the fore. Other names for the new period were also discussed. The authorized bodies of the party have not taken a decision yet, but the prevailing opinion is that the party should continue with Buldan and Sancar.

A TEAM WAS ESTABLISHED FOR MESSAGES OF THE CONGRESS

More emphasis is placed on the messages to be given at the 5th Great Ordinary Congress and the reality of HDP being a determinant in Turkish politics. A comprehensive study is carried out on the election policy, the moves in the Presidential elections and the democratic solution model of the Kurdish question. In this context, it was learned that the Central Concensus Commission formed a team and this team will work on the messages to be given at the congress. A feverish work has begun on the messages of the new co-chairs to be elected in the congress.

RECOMMENDATIONS OF IMPRISONED POLITICIANS WERE TAKEN

Buldan and Sancar visited former Co-Chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, former Co-Chair of DBP Sebahat Tuncel, and Former Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak to hear their recommendations last week. Discussions were held with the imprisoned politicians about the new period policies, their recommendations were noted and conveyed to relevant boards of the party.

MESSAGES TO SURPRISE THE GOVERNMENT AND THE OPPOSITION

HDP will deliver messages that will surprise both the government and the opposition. In this context, it is stated that the congress will attract more attention than expected.

HDP IS DISCUSSING CANDIDATES FOR PRESEDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Another important issue was whether HDP would nominate candidates for the presidential elections. HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar stated that they are open to negotiation on this issue in an open and transparent manner and at the same time pointed to the possibility of an alternative candidate. This issue started to be discussed in the boards where HDP alliances were formed before the congress. It was learned that even some names are being discussed as presedential candidates.

THE ATTITUDE OF THE OPPOSITION WILL BE DECISIVE

The attitude of the opposition regarding the pressures on HDP and the lifting of immunities of the HDP MPs will be decisive in terms of HDP's policy towards Presedential elections. It is stated that if the opposition chooses a candidate that HDP and its voters can not accept, HDP will nominate a presedential candidate as an alternative to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the candidate of the People's Allience.
