URFA - ÖHD Urfa Branch, which supports the sit-in carried out by the Şenyaşar family, gave the message "We are with the family."

 

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 529. The sit-in was launched on  March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son came to the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç district  early in the morning. The mother and son, who have been prevented from sitting in the shade at the entrance of the courthouse by the police since August 8, were subjected to police intervention threats in front of the courthouse, where they came to start the sit-in. Then, the family came to the “Şenyaşar family justice corner” and started their sit-in together with the members of the Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) Urfa Branch.

 

THE ONLY DEMAND IS JUSTICE

 

Stating that the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made it difficult for the family to sit in front of the courthouse, Sedat Altundağ, one of the executives of the ÖHD Urfa Branch, said: “The family's demonstration does not constitute a crime because the family has previously taken decisions that there is no place for an investigation in the investigations opened against them due to their demonstration in front of the courthouse. The family is peacefully holding a sit-in. We will continue to be with the family as ÖHD. The demands of the family still continue. All the family wants is justice. On the 529th day, we are with the family just like the first day.”
