AMED - Addressing the hundreds of thousands who filled the Newroz square in Amed, HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said: "Hello to Newroz, and goodbye to the AKP-MHP government. We will fall all of them together."

While the first fire of Newroz lit in the Şemzînan district of Colemêrg(Hakkari), the finale of Newroz was held in Newroz Park in Amed(Diyarbakır). At the 2635th Amed Newroz, where the fire was lit, the rage of the people against the isolation of Imrali and the rebellion against the repression policies of the AKP government were marked. Throughout the day, hundreds of thousands of demands for freedom for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan echoed from the square.

Addressing the hundreds of thousands who filled the Newroz square, HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said: “Dear Amed, I heartily greet you all, our people who are honorable and resisting. Happy Newroz. We welcome this Newroz in the shadow of the disaster created by the great earthquake. We have great grief, but we also have rage. We will turn this rage into struggle and struggle into the will to build a new life. The AKP-MHP government is responsible for the transformation of this great earthquake into a major disaster. This government has dragged the country into destruction with its plundering policies, rent economy and the resources it has given to its supporters. This is what turned the earthquake into a disaster. This power is a disaster power. Let's put the name of this power openly. It is the power of destruction, blood, plunder and disaster. Now is the time to get rid of this power. This Newroz reflects this voice and will in the most powerful way. Yes, we will definitely send this catastrophic power."

THE RESOURCES OF THE COUNTRY ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE WAR

This government transfers the country's resources to exploitation, profiteering, and war. Destructions and disasters are the product of this mentality. We defend peace against war, life against death. In 2013, millions of people heard the powerful message of peace and democratic solution in these squares. That message also expressed our march towards peace with the fire of Newroz. Newroz is a new life, a re-awakening of life. Newroz is resistance, resurrection, peace. This is what we promise. We will establish a new life, we will build great peace.

ISOLATION MUST BE LIFTED FOR A SOLUTION

War policies also bring about another application. War policies depend on isolation. When the resolution process ended in 2015, the government, which placed the war in the center of this country most severely, also started the isolation in Imrali. Let's see this well. War politics and isolation are synonymous. Isolation is a symbol of deepening the politics of war. That's why we say; Isolation must be lifted for a democratic solution and peace. The isolation in Imrali must be lifted. We all demonstrate this will for peace and a democratic solution.

HELLO TO NEWROZ, GOODBYE to AKP

While we say hello to Newroz, we also say no to war policies. We say no to exploitation, plunder and lies. We advocate establishing a new life in a new country. Therefore, hello to Newroz and goodbye to the AKP-MHP government. We will fall all together.
