ISTANBUL - Stating that despite the decision of inaction, the democratic forces bear a great responsibility against Turkey's ongoing attacks, KCK Executive Council Member Zübeyir Aydar said: "Everyone should do their duties so that the election is not sabotaged."

Despite the KCK's decision of inaction following the earthquakes in Maraş on February 6, Turkey continues its attacks launched on April 17, 2022, against the Avaşîn, Metina and Zap areas in the Federated Kurdistan Region with the support of the KDP. As the air strikes continued, KCK Executive Council Co-Chair Besê Hozat announced that they had extended their decision of inaction until after the May 14 elections.

KCK Executive Council Member Zübeyir Aydar made evaluations to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) regarding the attacks, the KCK's decision of inaction and the role of the Labor and Freedom Alliance in the elections.

THE DECISION OF CEASEFIRE

Stating that there was a great destruction and tragedy in the earthquakes in Kurdistan, Aydar said: "The KCK considered the suffering of the people, the KCK decided to take action for this reason. We have decided to continue the war and conflict here and take the decision of inaction to avoid further suffering. It was impossible for us to remain indifferent to this. In this context, we declared that we have a humanitarian approach and that is why we have taken the decision of inaction. Our movement did not only do this in this earthquake, it also displayed the same attitude in the 1999 earthquake because we are a humanitarian and moral movement, but unfortunately the other side did not comply with this in any way and continues its attacks as before. This decision clearly reveals the difference between us and the other party."

AKP-MHP-ERGENEKON ALLIANCE

Emphasizing that the government continued its attacks instead of healing the wounds of the earthquake, Aydar said: This condition had no human or moral side. The AKP-MHP government wants to continue its rule by force, pressure and profiteering. This alliance is the AKP-MHP-Ergenekon alliance established in 2014. It is anti-Kurdish. They want to completely liquidate the Kurdish movement and maintain assimilation by keeping it in the old status. It is the product of a policy created to completely eliminate the Kurds. Because of these, earthquakes or something else does not stop them. Normally, when such great destruction and tragedy occurs in a country, the country intervenes with all its might, even military power, and tries to heal the wounds. It tries to reduce suffering. But here the army remained motionless. Because those above did not make such a request, they even acted with the motive of 'We are at war, so we cannot keep the army busy with such things'. The continuation of attacks in this way is based on him. In terms of these, it doesn't matter how many people died or how many were victims. What is important for them is the continuation of their own power and profits.”

ALLIANCE OF LABOR AND FREEDOM

Mentioning the alliances in Turkey, Aydar said: "The People's Alliance formed by the AKP-MHP government is the enemy of all peoples. We have all seen what the AKP has brought to Turkey for 20 years, especially what has happened in the last 8 years in the war. If the People's Alliance won, it would not be possible to talk about democracy in Turkey. There will be environments of chaos. On the other side, there is the alliance we call the Six Table or Nation Alliance. The Nation Alliance also has a restoration project and a project to restore the derailed state according to the old system. They announced a broad program called 'Türkiye problems'. Unfortunately, among them, there is not a single thing that touches on Turkey's most fundamental problem, the Kurdish question. Before the rights and legal situation of the Kurds is resolved, neither democracy can be practiced, nor the state wheel can be worked as desired. On the other hand, when we look at the program of the Labor and Freedom Alliance, which was formed under the leadership of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), it will actually be a guarantee for the solution of the problems in Turkey completely, for Turkish democracy, for the democratic values that will develop in Turkey."
