ŞIRNEX - Leyla Zana, who visited the graves of 34 people who were bombed and murdered by warplanes in Roboski, said: "Roboski is the festering sore of Kurdistan."

Politician Leyla Zana, who continues election campaign in Şirnex and its districts, visited the graves of 34 people who were killed by warplanes of the Turkish Armed Forces in Roboskî Village of Qeleban (Uludere) district on December 28, 2011. Zana was accompanied by People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan and many party members. Families welcomed Zana with a photo of their murdered children at the entrance of Roboskî cemetery.

'ROBOSKI IS THE FESTERING SORE OF KURDISTAN'

Zana, who started her speech by commemorating those who were murdered, stated that justice cannot come to the country unless the Roboski Massacre is brought to light. Zana said: “We brought you together with your land here 13 years ago. This sore is a centuries-old wound. From Newala Town, Geliyê Zîlan, Dersim to Roboskî, these sores are the wounds of Kurdistan. It is not only Roboskî's but also Kurdistan's unhealed sore. I wish this burden wasn't just on your shoulders, I wish you didn't have to do it. Our ancestors left this burden on our shoulders, but we will not leave it on the shoulders of our children."

'THERE WILL BE NO PEACE UNTIL JUSTICE GIVES TO ROBOSKÎ'

Emphasizing that the Roboski Massacre is lost in the corridors of Ankara, Zana said: "They said that the Roboskî Massacre would not be lost in the corridors of Ankara, but just as the Gelîyê Zîlan, Dêrsim, Newala Town massacres were made disappear, the Roboskî Massacre was also made disappear. But know this; Our party, our institutions and this people will not forget this massacre and will make every effort to bring it to light. These mothers want justice and are still waiting for justice. There will be no peace until justice comes and the hearts of these mothers will not be enlightened. This incident must be clarified as soon as possible. I embrace 34 people with the warmth of my heart and bow before them with respect.”
After the speeches, Zana and the accompanying delegation left carnations on the graves of the 34 murdered people.

Zana and the accompanying delegation left Roboskî to attend the public meeting to be held on Cizîr Sanat Street.
