NEWS CENTER - TJA will organize a march in Amed on May 31 with the motto, "Women marching for social peace and democratic solution".

Free Women’s Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) will organize a march in Amed (Diyarbakır) on May 31 with the motto, “Women marching for social peace and democratic solution”.

The march will start at the Şex Said Square at 4 PM with the participation of thousands of women, the movement said in a written statement on Tuesday.
In the statement it was said: “As women struggling for a life without war, exploitation, equality and justice, we are the subjects of construction in the democratic solution of the Kurdish issue.  The democratic solution to the Kurdish issue will pave the way for social peace. We call on all women to struggle by saying that a free, equal and fair life is possible although monism, nationalism and sexism are organized as private wars nowadays.

Mr. Öcalan’s call on February 27 has cracked the doors of an honorable peace in our country. As women, we are the ones who will embrace this call the most and build a democratic society.

CALL TO THE MARCH

The movement also called on women to participate in the march to demand social peace and free and equal life, the release of all political prisoners and to raise their voices against femicide, all forms of gender-based violence, child abuse, genocidal and assimilation policies.

"We know that a democratic society means a socialist, equal and free life. We are the organizers and builders of this life. Therefore, we say that we are marching for social peace and democratic solution. We call on all women rights activists, feminists, ecologists, young women, intellectuals and artists, women of different ethnicities and religions to participate in the march to defend a free and equal life,” it was stated.
