In the south of Kirkuk, Arab migrants tried to invade a Kurdish village with the support of Iraqi army and police forces. A youth from the village was detained in the incident. According to Fırat News Agency's (ANF) news yesterday based on local sources, the incident took place in Heftexar village of Daquq district of Kirkuk. 

 

It was reported that Arab migrants arrived in the village in the morning and entered the area with Hummer-type armoured vehicles belonging to the police and Iraqi army.

 

Sources reported that the security forces did not allow the Kurdish farmers to enter their lands and forced the farmers out of their lands with a large military force. The same source said: "A young villager who was near the fields was detained, insulted and released after a while. The detained youth was in charge of the fish ponds in the village. The ponds were next to the Kurdish farmers' fields."

 

The sources also stressed that despite the presence of some Kurdish political circles in Kirkuk and Baghdad, Kurdish farmers have not received any support and that this problem, which has not been solved for years, is getting deeper and deeper.
