'SIT-STAND' INSISTANCE

Prisoners reported that the guards raided their wards under the name of "search" and distributed their belongings. Prisoners shared with the lawyers that the guards imposed demands such as "sit and stand", "open your hands and arms", and "take off your shoes". They also shared the information that the prisoners were threatened after the cameras were turned off.

Lawyers from OHD said: "The prison was inspected and the books given to them were confiscated. In addition, the notebooks in which they wrote quotes from the books and some of them contained short story and novel works were also confiscated. The rooms of the prisoners who were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and stayed in single cells were also confiscated in this way. They were physically intervened and held on the ground for a long time unlawfully during the search."
