AMED - Co-chair of GOC-DER Murat Sarı emphasised that necessary arrangements must be made for the return of forcibly displaced citizens.
Murat Sarı, Co-chair of Mezopotamya Migration Monitoring and Research Association (GOC-DER), evaluated the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" made by Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Sarı stated that the government and the state must take concrete steps against the call. Sarı emphasised that conditions must be created for hundreds of thousands of Kurds who were forcibly displaced during the conflict processes to return to their lands and regulations should be made for this purpose.
'LEGAL ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE'
Stating that the call made by Abdullah Öcalan is historical, "The call made by Mr Abdullah Öcalan and a number of processes developed by the interlocutors of the process have been important steps towards the construction of peace," said Murat Sarı and added, "From now on, the other interlocutor of the process, the government, must take concrete steps so that the process can be built. first of all, regulations regarding mother tongue should be made. It is inevitable to make all legal arrangmenets. Legal arrangements must also be made for Mr Abdullah Öcalan. Mr Öcalan cannot carry out this process under isolation conditions."
CALL FOR RETURNS
Referring to the migrations experienced during the conflict processes, Murat Sarı said, "This call is a ray of hope in terms of the return of forcibly displaced people to their lands. Arrangements must be made for hundreds of thousands of Kurds to return to their lands. Concrete steps must be taken in this regard."
