NEWS CENTER - An attempt by paramilitary groups affiliated to Damascus to infiltrate military points in the south of Kobani was prevented by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed in the clash.
Paramilitary forces loyal to the Syrian Interim Government continue their attacks against North East Syrian cities despite the "ceasefire". The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center made a statement regarding the attacks.
The statement reads: "This morning, a group of gunmen belonging to the Damascus government attempted to infiltrate one of our positions in the countryside of the Tishreen Dam area, using hand grenades in an effort to target our fighters and destabilize the region.
Our forces immediately engaged the attacking group, leading to direct clashes that resulted in the death of one of the attackers, while the others fled the scene, leaving the body of their fallen member behind.
Our forces exercised their legitimate right to self-defense in responding to the threat and thwarting the infiltration attempt, reaffirming their steadfastness in protecting our people and ensuring the stability of the region."
