AMED - The tree slaughter started by the village guards and some neighbourhood guards in the Mezra Xuş area of Eskar neighbourhood on the slopes of Dorsîn Mountain in Pasur (Kulp) district of Amed (Diyarbakır) continues for 20 days.
It is stated that 5 lorries of felled trees are removed from the area every day and 100 lorries of felled trees have been removed so far. The footage reflecting the destruction of trees reveal the magnitude of the destruction in the region.
It is stated that the felling by the rangers and some people from Eskar neighbourhood will continue along the foothills of the mountain. It was learnt that 5 lorries cut trees a day and a road was built in this area to ensure the passage of the lorries.
REACTION TO SILENCE
A neighbourhood resident said that it was unacceptable that trees were cut down in Dorşîn, the oxygen vein of the district, despite the ban. The citizen also reacted to the fact that no one, especially ecologists, raised a voice despite the destruction that has been going on for 20 days.
